Every report on this site links the public records it rests on. Sometimes the office that published a record later takes it offline. When that happens to a record we cite, it is listed here: what it was, when it went offline, the copy we kept and what is still online. The links in our reports point here, so a reader is never left at a dead end.

A record leaving a website is not, by itself, a sign of wrongdoing: some offices keep only current documents online. Under Michigan's Freedom of Information Act, anyone can ask the office for a copy.
